WoodWind strives to make sophisticated dining approachable with its chef-driven, regionally-inspired cuisine.
Craveable Hospitality, the hospitality company behind NYC’s Piecaken Bakeshop, recently opened a new restaurant in Chicago. WoodWind offers contemporary American cuisine served in whimsical tableside presentations. Their menu is elegant, yet sophisticated, giving the whole dining experience a down-to-earth feel.
A few notable menu options include Roasted Bone Marrow with beef biscuit and leek & apple relish; Whole-Roasted Dry-Aged Duck Tacos with pineapple salsa and radishes; and Bloomin’ Maitake with burnt sesame caramel and “dancing” bonito flakes.
Delicious dessert options include the Smoked Chocolate Pot de Crème, a chocolate custard served smoking inside a bell-shaped glass and the Rosé Cider Poached Pear served with cashew cream sorbet. Our mouths are watering already!
The cocktail menu rounds out an exquisite dining experience with inventive drinks such as the Smoked N’ Mirrors, an Old Fashioned smoked with cherry chips and the Beehive with Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, coconut water, lemon juice, and raw honey.
Adding to the relaxed vibe, the chef’s table is located next to the kitchen, allowing diners to interact directly with culinary experts. With keen attention to detail, it’s easy to tell WoodWind wants its guests to feel at home. Although a little expensive, WoodWind is an excellent place to impress your visiting family members this holiday season.
